BAY PARKING

TO THE RIGHT:-

Pull up on the right past the bay you wish to go into and about a couple of foot between you and the bays on your right

You are going to use a sticker or a mark on the rear driver window as a mark to turn the wheel.

Choose a bay you wish to go into.Open the driver side window fully and remove seat belt.Remember which sticker to use as your marker to turn.

Check the level of the car park and bays to determine the clutch control

Look all round to make sure it is safe to move the car

When safe go back slowly looking behind you

Check the blind spots before you get to your turning point.Any one behind you stop.

When your sticker or mark is on the edge of the bayline turn fully right keeping the car slow

You will cut the bayline slightly

Look left and right for anything moving and if so stop.

Check the left wing mirror to see if you back left wheel is going to cross the bay line.It must not cross the line. If it is stop pull forward and reverse back in to the bay.Make sure you look round before you move forward, and again before you start to reverse

If your back wheel is going away from the line you will get between the lines.

You will need to keep slow as you must now look over your left shoulder to see if there is any body behind you.If there is you must stop. This safety check is compulsory.

As you go into the bay keep your head out of the window and get a distance of about 6 to 9 inches from the bay line and your car and keep it.Your head stays out of the window. You will need to adjust your steering by turning the wheel left about 11 inches from the bay line. While you are adjusting the car will still go towards the bay line on your drivers side.If you wait till your back wheel is the right distance from the line before you adjust the steering you will be too close to the line. When you have stopped apply the handbrake, and select neutral gear.

If you are too close to either side of the bay line.Look round and when safe pull out forwards going slightly away from the line you are too close to.

When forward ,stop handbrake on.Look round to make sure it is safe to go.

Go back head out of the window and use the line on your side as a reference point.

TO GO LEFT

exactly the same method as above but use a marker on your left side and turn the whhel fully left, using right lock to straighten up.
