Example Of Left Hand Reverse(newton road)

If you look at the shape of the corner in the photo to the right. You will see it does not have much of a curve on it.This is a sharp corner. One full turn of the wheel will get you round. In the next photo the corner has a bigger curve and this is a sweep corner. Here you can’t turn the wheel fully left or you will go up onto the kerb
You should stop and be positioned as in the photo above. This will give you time to build up the clutch control and to do your observation before your turning point. The corner is a sweep corner. If you look in the wing mirror you will see your back wheel or wheel arch level with the first dotted line across the road. This is your point of turn Look behind at the left edge of your rear window.Turn until the edge of the window starts to head towards the kerb. When it does do not turn any more. Now do your observation checks. See how the car is turning. It is not heading out to the center of the road. You should also have done your obsevation checks. Now turn fully left to head to the kerb.

Make your last observation checks. Look at the back of the car and start to straighten up on an angle, by turning bits of right and get you mark on the kerb and keep it there. The car is nearly straight. It is important you keep the speed slow so as not to loose control and hit the kerb.

The car is now perfectly positioned off the kerb and the correct distance from the end of the road
