| Here
there are two double roundabouts. The first one has two lanes and no
arrows. You can’t see the second roundabout this far back. You need to
approach in the right hand lane for both of the roundabouts if you are
going ahead on the second one. |
This
is the second roundabout. If you look across to your left, you will see
the kerb sticking out.If you were in the left lane you would have to
move over to the right to avoid hitting the kerb |
As
you go over the roundabout see the hatch markings keeping you away from
the kerb.By taking the right lane to go ahead, you have already avoided
the hatch markings and do not have to move out. |

On these two roundabouts a kerb sticks out on the second roundabout. If you know the area it is best to take the right lane to go ahead on the first roundabout to get in the right hand lane at the second roundabout to clear the kerb.If you took the left lane for both to go ahead and on the second roundabout traffic is in the right lane it is difficult to move out to the right to avoid the kerb. Well now you have seen several different examples of roundabouts where you need to take lanes that are not the normal proceedure.Confusing aren’t they, especially if you are a stranger to the area.Bring back the Romans I say, they only built straight roads
