THEORY AND DRIVING TEST INFORMATION

You will need to take with you on your Theory Test your current Provisional Drving licence both parts.If you do not have a a photo card licence you will need proof of identity.A pass port or a student union card will do.If you do not have any photo ID ask your Driving Instructor to sign a relevant photo and put a covering letter with it stating how long they have known you and that the photo is a true likeness of you.

The same applies for your practical test also taking with you your theory test certificate,letter of test appointment,and your brain would help.

If by some disaster you have mislayed your Provisonal Licence before your test you cane phone The DVLA at Swansea and ask them to fax a copy of it to the test centre you are going to.You will have to do this as under the Stupid Data Protection Act they will not let your driving insructor do this for you,even though we have a record of your licence.If you do not have the relevant documents,you will not be allowed to take your test.  The Phone Number to Ring Is  0870 2400009        

Also make sure you can read a number plate at the required distance 67 feet.If you can’t read the number plate you don’t drive.It would be like taking out Stevie Wonder.

You also need to provide a suitable car for your test.It must be insured for a test to be conducted.You will sign a declaration that it is insured for a test.

DRIVING EXAMINERS DO NOT SUPPLY YOU WITH A CAR FOR YOUR TEST.You have only paid for a driving test to be conducted and you still have to pay for the use of a car etc to your driving school for your test,ie for the instructors time to take you there and the insurance on the car.
