LANE DISCIPLINE

Regardeless of how many lanes there are on a motorway, you should always keep to the left,if the left lane is clear.

Bad lane discipline is one of the main causes of traffic congestion on motorways and can be exteremely dangerous. Some drivers try to enforce the national speed limit,by driving at 70 MPH and not letting other cars pass. This too is extremely dangerous.

Then there are the members of I always drive in the middle lane club(lane squatters) when the left hand lane is clear of traffic. This selfish and dangerous attitude is taken by people who are probably unaware that they are blocking the path of speeding cars ,or heavy good lorries that can’t overtake.

Another type of dangerous driver seems to think the carriageway and the hard shoulder are a free for all.Overtaking is carried out on the left of other traffic including the hard shoulder,in a dangerous effort to pass slower moving cars etc, regardless of safety.Driving cars at speed is dangerous. It is made more dangerous by bad drivers and idiots.Safety and the presevation of life is more important than speed. You should not drive in the middle lane if the left hand lane is clear. This driver of the car is restricting the progress of the breakdown truck. This sort of selfish attitude causes crashes. You must use the left hand lane when possible at all times.

BELLOW

Should you be in congested traffic,do not get impatient and-like the people here-drive on the hard shoulder to jumpthe queues

This is illegal and dangerous and it blocks an emergency route to an accident(probably the cause of the traffic congestion) If you are caught driving along the hard shoulder you will probably get nicked by the old bill or caught on camera and summoned to appear in court.

BOTTOM RIGHT

The main reasons for changing lanes is to overtake slower moving traffic in the left hand lane ahead of you.To do so use your MSM Routine and then if safe move out to the next laneWhen the car in the middle lane has finished overtaking the driver should move back to the left lane after leaving a 2 second gap to move back
